Northwest Airlines generates mega miles, big bucks
Northwest Airlines made a major impact in the battle against childhood cancer during first quarter 2008. During that period, Northwest had designated Children’s Cancer Research Fund as its featured AirCares partner. A total of 2,642,129 miles were donated to Children’s Cancer Research Fund — 1,642,129 miles from Northwest WorldPerks members and 1 million matched by NWA.
In addition, Northwest showed increased commitment to Children’s Cancer Research Fund by making a public check presentation for $10,000 at a Gopher men’s basketball game.

Gopher A Cure raises $27,000

Children’s Cancer Research Fund is proud to announce that, at the end of the University of Minnesota winter sports season, the 2007-2008 Gopher A Cure Challenge raised more than $27,000 for pediatric cancer research. Season ticket holders and other donors supported this program through tax-deductible pledges for 3-point shots and hockey goals made by the Gopher men’s and women’s basketball and hockey teams, respectively, and one-time gifts and donations collected at Gopher women’s volleyball and gymnastics events. Thank you to Gophersports Marketing for partnering with Children’s Cancer Research Fund for these great events, which featured family-friendly activities, interactive fun for kids, and a silent auction with Gopher sports memorabilia.
